Pine Crest School - Fort Lauderdale is a college preparatory PreK-12 school of 1750 students, with approximately 800 students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1934, we have a reputation for working with very bright students who seek academic challenges. We are looking for Chinese language teachers to join our Upper School for the 2012-2013 school year.
The ideal candidate will already have upper school teaching experience at an independent school that embraces instruction through differentiated and project-based learning, as well as collaborative classroom practices. An advanced command of Simplified Chinese in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking is necessary. The ability to implement immersion-based language instruction is also desired. An enthusiasm to connect with students and promote the Chinese Language & Culture Program via club sponsorship and student competitions is of great importance. Proficiency with cutting-edge technology and creativity in using educational technology is preferred.
The successful candidate will have U.S. residency and/or a Green Card; regrettably, we cannot sponsor a candidate for residency/citizenship.

The Department of Modern Languages at Florida International University invites applications for a Lecturer/Instructor position in German and Russian to begin in August 2012. Duties include teaching German and Russian language, as well as culture courses in translation. Applicants should be familiar with communicative proficiency-based methods of foreign-language teaching. Requirements: native or near-native fluency in German, Russian, and English; minimum degree M.A. (Ph.D. preferred) in German, Russian, Comparative Literature or related field; and experience teaching German and Russian language at the college level.
